Rays Of Sunshine
Here at The Fragrance Shop, we are honoured to continue supporting children’s charities and building on the milestones we’ve achieved with them over the years, donating 5p from every online and in-store transaction to our Spray a Little Happiness Foundation.
One of our longest relationships is with Rays of Sunshine, the incredible children’s charity that grants magical wishes to seriously and terminally ill children across the UK. Together, The Fragrance Shop and Rays of Sunshine have fulfilled more than 750 children’s wishes. From sending families to Disney World Florida for the holiday of a lifetime to surprise meetings with their idols, we are proud to play a part in Rays of Sunshine’s mission to make the impossible possible.
We thank all our customers who have helped us so far and for their ongoing support.
CHRISTMAS COMPETITION
As the holiday season approaches, we have given two talented young artists the chance to make their mark on Christmas 2024. We called on all children who have had a wish granted by Rays of Sunshine to take part in a unique competition where their festive artwork could become a Christmas card that will be sold in stores nationwide and online.
We are thrilled to announce the winners are Rian (12) & Nicholas (12), who both submitted excellent and creative designs! Rian’s witty design features a reminder to “Pud” up the Christmas tree, while Nicholas’s includes lots of festive characters including a dancing Christmas tree and reindeer!
SANNA’S VISIT TO FQ
Granting Rays of Sunshine’s 9,000th wish in 21 years, we hosted a VIP experience for 18-year-old Sanna to meet one of her favourite musicians, Olly Murs, while going through treatment for end-stage kidney failure.
Sanna, who lives in Rochdale and is currently on the transplant list was invited to our Fragrance Quarters in Manchester, for a day of pampering and photography.
Sanna's special day began with an unforgettable encounter with Olly Murs, also a long-term ambassador of the charity. The pair sat down and chatted, and Sanna asked Olly lots of different questions. When she asked him about his career highlights, he talked about his performance at the King's Coronation as well as singing in front of Simon Cowell and receiving his praise. “I have so many memories of watching Olly’s videos with my sisters, so it felt in a way like I already knew him,” Sanna explains.
In a heartwarming moment, Olly asked Sanna her favourite song, to which she enthusiastically responded, "Troublemaker." The duo then surprised Sanna's sister with a birthday call, adding an extra touch of joy to the day and spreading the sunshine even further.
“My favourite bit of the day was definitely being able to get behind the camera with Olly. I pretended that I was shooting an advert for the perfumes we made, and I think the pictures came out really well!” Sanna says.
Reflecting on the wish, Sanna adds: "My confidence was lacking before the wish. But even with that one experience, I feel louder. I'm not scared to say what I want to say."
